About Rustic Wood Frames
 In our travels of 47 years as over the road truckers with one of the major van lines we saw some frames somewhat similar, but were not for sale. Having plenty of time as a truck driver going from coast to coast, to think about frames I came up with a modified version of what we saw. When I made a couple for myself and all our friends and neighbors saw them and wanted one so I decided to market them. I've always enjoyed working with wood. Gathering materials is also a big enjoyment. Going to an old saw mill to pick out rough sawed pine for the outside of the frame. Hand picking cedar boards for the matting and spending several days in the woods selecting alder with the bark and moss on for the inside corners. This operation was right up my alley. What a way to spend retirement, staying busy and totally enjoying what you do. |
